Sciatica And Lower Back Disc Problems Can Be Helped With Chiropractic Care

Sciatica is an abnormal health condition which causes people to have problems with pain in their leg. Sometimes it is called sciatic nerve pain. It is associated with pain in the lower back, buttock and leg or foot. Sometimes the pain in the leg is described as a numbness, tingling, burning or an ache. For some people it is a mild annoyance but for others it may be excruciating.

Sciatic nerve problems will occur in 10% of people, most commonly affecting those aged 25 to 45 years old. The nerves originate in the lower back and travel all the way down to both feet. In the buttock area the sciatic nerve is the largest nerve in the human body and is about the thickness of our thumb. As it travels down the leg the nerve decreases in size and gives branches off to various aspects of our legs and feet.

Normally there should be no problems with the sciatic nerve. However the most common problem affecting it tends to come from a problem from a disc in the lower back. The discs of the lowest part of our spine are called the lumbar discs. They are small pads or cushions between the bones of the lower spine which are called the lumbar vertebrae.

Generally what happens to the lumbar discs is that a portion of it bulges, protrudes or herniates backward putting pressure or impinging upon the sciatic nerve. Sometimes the term "slipped disc" is used but this is really not a true descriptive medical term. There can be various reasons for problems with the disc such as a sudden trauma or prolonged wear and tear occurring over time.

Most people with a lumbar disc and sciatic nerve problem experience the worst of their pain early in the morning towards the end of their normal sleep time and the first hour or two after arising from bed. People who have occupations requiring them to sit in an office or drive a vehicle tend to be particularly uncomfortable with this condition.

The typical medical treatment for sciatica tends to include medications aimed at reducing inflammation. At times surgery is undertaken. Most studies show that taking medication provides only temporary relief. Some experts feel that only 1% of disc and sciatic nerve problems actually need surgery.

Chiropractic care is a natural healthcare alternative to conventional treatment of sciatica and lumbar disc problems. Chiropractors will initially see a patient and discuss the problem with them, perform a physical examination, and evaluate x-rays and other imaging such as MRIs. Chiropractic treatment is aimed at gently tractioning and repositioning the lumbar bones so as to take pressure off the disc. By doing this the bulging or protruding area of the disc is reduced resulting in less irritation of the sciatic nerve. Chiropractors may also use electrical stimulation to relax muscles and recommend the patient use cold packs over the area to reduce inflammation. Chiropractors will also discuss utilizing rehabilitative exercises and lifestyle recommendations that patients will need to follow through on at home and work.

Some studies have shown that 90% of lumbar disc problems causing sciatica are helped with chiropractic care. The sooner the patient visits a doctor of chiropractic the sooner they are likely to experience relief, be able to sleep, work and enjoy life the way it is meant to be.

Low Back Pain, Consumer Reports Finds Chiropractic Number One Among the Top Five Treatments

CONSUMER REPORTS Rates Chiropractic Number One in the Treatment for Back Pain as does the JMPT.

In the May 2009 issue of Consumer Reports, a survey was conducted on 14,000 subscribers that suffered from low back pain. This survey compared the top five forms of health care treatment sought by these lower back pain sufferers. Most of these 14,000 subscribers indicated they tried an average of 5 different non-surgical treatments and 88% indicated their back pain was recurrent. In addition, they indicated the low back pain severely affected their activities of daily living most notably with sleep (46%), sex (24%), and maintaining a healthy weight (31%) for at least a week or more. Then Consumer Report compared the patients' satisfaction for pain relief with each of the different types of health care treatments along with their satisfaction of the health care provider.
The results of the survey are as follows:

Profession / Patient Satisfaction

Chiropractic / Manipulation --- 59%
Physical Therapy ------------ 55%
Acupuncture ---------------- 53%
Physician, Specialist --------- 44%
Physician, Primary Care ------ 34%

As you can see, the low back pain sufferers rated the chiropractor and his or her treatment for their care at the top of the list, with a 59% satisfaction over the others. In addition, chiropractics superior health care over other approaches is seen with Consumer Reports patient satisfaction survey, as it's also seen with highly revered journals. For example the JMPT in 2000, studied 137 chronic lower back patients with moderate to severe pain and disability. The study compared the rate of patient satisfaction for those treated with chiropractic adjustment, compared with treatment based on anti-inflammatory medications (NSAIDs). The study revealed patients who received chiropractic adjustments experienced a significant 31% reduction in pain as compared to only 6% reduction for patients treated primarily with NSAIDs. For patient disability the results were similar, chiropractic adjustments improving disability by 29% compared to medical patients who experienced only a 1% improvement.

How Chiropractic Care Can Help You

Like many other people, chiropractic care can help you by providing a wide number of benefits. Understanding how the process works can help you identify chiropractic's effects on your body. It offers plenty of benefits, depending on your physical condition, your ability to tolerate treatment and how your body responds to it. A few of chiropractic's proven benefits are described below to help you decide whether this type of treatment would be right for you and your condition.

The Correction of Misalignments

Chiropractic care is known to be extremely effective for correcting misalignments in the spine and joints. The techniques used by chiropractic practitioners for the correction of these misalignments is called chiropractic adjustment or spinal adjustment. Chiropractors administer more than nine-tenths of all spinal manipulations performed in the United States.

Psychological Benefits

Chiropractic treatment sessions leave most patients with a feeling of relaxation and relief. You might feel some mild discomfort or slight pain initially, because your joints are being put into proper positions and your range of motion is being increased. As their condition begins to improve and they feel less pain and discomfort in their muscles and joints, patients often begin to feel more self-confident and have a higher sense of self-esteem. After chiropractic treatments, people who have suffered from back and neck pain for years begin feeling more positive about themselves because they are better able to perform their daily tasks. Even their relationships with friends and family members can benefit.

Use of Modern, Up-to-Date Technology

Chiropractic-type techniques have been used for hundreds of years, but modern technology has made some distinct improvements over the course of chiropractor's history. Patients can rest easy, knowing their chiropractic treatments are safe, quick and effective. Modern technology allows chiropractors to take an advanced, very precise approach to rendering treatment, and as a result, chiropractic care involves only a minimal risk.

Modern diagnostic tests are administered before any chiropractic care is rendered; these tests are designed to identify and pinpoint the patient's specific problem to be treated. Chiropractic treatments may also be used as a secondary therapy, useful in helping patients recover faster from injuries and health conditions.

Absence of Side Effects

Chiropractic care is the most widely-used form of drug-free medical treatment in the United States. Because drugs are not used in chiropractic care, chiropractic treatments are not associated with the side effects that are so common when strong prescription medications are taken.

Most people feel some improvement after every treatment, with some patients eventually needing treatments only one to three times per year. Some people even use their chiropractic treatments simply as a means to help them eliminate their stress and be able to relax. With chiropractic care, there's no need to worry about your symptoms returning or experiencing other, additional problems because of prescription medications or major medical interventions such as surgery.

The chiropractic treatment approach benefits families as well as individuals of all ages and both genders, including infants, the elderly, toddlers, children, adults and pregnant women. Essentially everyone can obtain significant benefits from chiropractic because so many different treatments are available. Sometimes, other types of alternative treatments, such as acupuncture or massage therapy, are used in conjunction with chiropractic to enhance chiropractic's benefits or simply reduce the stress that can slow the body's natural healing process.

Neck Pain and How Chiropractic Care May Help You

People experiencing neck pain often turn to chiropractic care for help. Some swear by chiropractic physicians, saying the work they perform not only relieves pain, but also addresses the source of their pain rather than covering it up with drugs. There are more than 60,000 licensed chiropractic physicians in the United States today, and about 8 percent of American adults and 3 percent of children have had chiropractic care to treat their pain, according to a recent survey. That's a higher percentage than those who use other alternative therapies like yoga, massage, and acupuncture.

Chiropractic: How Neck Pain Is Treated

The word chiropractic is from the Greek words for hand (cheir) and action (praxis) - practitioners primarily use their hands to treat muscle, joint, and nerve pain by adjusting the spine and any joints in the body that need it. Adjustments involve the chiropractic physician applying controlled gentle, relaxing force to a joint, pushing the joint into a more correct place. This is intended to loosen up joints that are restricted or painfully due to tissue damage or scarring caused by either trauma or repetitive stress. An example of trauma causing neck pain is whiplash, while a repetitive stress injury could be from consistently poor posture.

For neck pain in particular, chiropractic neck adjustments, called cervical manipulation, loosen up the joints of the cervical vertebrae in the neck, and this can reduce pain caused by pinched nerves and muscle spasms. Chiropractic physicians use their hands to twist the neck sharply and snap the vertebrae back into alignment.

Chiropractic: Finding a Practitioner

Chiropractic physicians are trained to diagnose patients through physical exams, x-rays if needed as well diagnostic tests. Treatment plans may include neck exercises to do on your own and suggestions for a healthier lifestyle; chiropractic physicians do not prescribe medication as part of their treatment. Practicing chiropractic physicians in the United States are required to receive a Doctor of Chiropractic degree from a properly accredited college. Admission to a chiropractic college requires three years of undergraduate work. Chiropractic College is a four-year, year round program, during which the chiropractic physicians-in-training will learn in the classroom and provide hands-on care to patients. For specialized training, chiropractic physicians undertake an additional two- or three-year residency.

When evaluating a chiropractic physician, the National Center for Complementary and Alternative Medicine suggests asking about the professional's licensing and training, and whether that training included the specific problem you're experiencing.

By restoring mobility in your joints, chiropractic offers neck pain treatment that aims to fix the source of the pain rather than just treat its symptoms. This no-drug, no-surgery approach may be the answer you've been looking for.

Because each individual case is different, the appropriate chiropractic treatment is unique to each patient and is directed at the primary dysfunctions detected during the chiropractic exam. However, chiropractors commonly employ different treatments often including: gentle relaxing manipulation often followed by muscle relaxation and/or gentle stimulation and various exercises

The primary treatment for joint dysfunction, relaxing spinal manipulation involves the chiropractor gently moving the involved joint into the direction in which it is restricted. Also known as a chiropractic adjustment, spinal manipulation may involve the application of a short thrust in that direction. In many cases, instead of a thrust, a slow relaxing mobilizing movement is used. This can be done for any joint in the body.

Although their main method of treatment is the spinal manipulation, many chiropractic doctors also use other therapies to treat their patients. The following is a brief description of some of the most common therapies chiropractic doctors offer.

Muscle relaxation and/or stimulation consist of gentle stretches to the muscle that has excessive tension or repeated contractions of the muscle that is inhibited may also be used. If the muscle is very tight, a more vigorous stretch may be applied by the chiropractor. Gentle finger pressure techniques may be applied to trigger points to relieve the pain associated with the tight muscles.

Cryotherapy is also often used. Gel ice packs are wrapped in towels and applied to the affected area. This helps reduce swelling and pain and helps with pain control. These ice packs are often placed over massaging pads at the same time.

Ice and Heat Therapy

Ice and heat have long been used to treat many painful conditions. Ice therapy is often used to reduce swelling and help control pain immediately after an injury. Heat therapy is used to relax the muscles, increase circulation, and can provide relief to patients with chronic pain. Depending on the patient's condition, a combination of ice and heat can be used. Your chiropractor will advise you on what is best for your condition.

11.5 Myths About Chiropractic Exposed

1. Chiropractic Doesn't Work

Chiropractic is like all health disciplines. It works for some problems and doesn't work for other problems. For musculoskeletal problems (like back pain, neck pain, headaches, migraines, fibromyalgia, sciatica, carpal tunnel syndrome, herniated discs, auto accident injuries, work comp injuries, and sports injuries) chiropractic works exceptionally well. In fact, in many instances people find better results with chiropractic than with drugs or surgery!

2. Chiropractic Isn't Scientific

Chiropractic has an enormous amount of peer reviewed research showing that it is safe and effective for chronic problems involving the nervous system and the musculoskeletal system. There have been over 50 random controlled, double blind trials showing chiropractic is more effective than drugs & surgery for the management of back pain. A recent study at Duke University showed chiropractic was more effective than drugs for headaches & migraines. Researchers in San Diego showed chiropractic to be more effective than medicine or physical therapy for injuries associated with whiplash trauma during a car accident. People suffering with back pain, neck pain, headaches, migraines, sciatica, sports injuries, herniated discs, and extremity problems can rest assured that the chiropractic care they are receiving is backed up by rigorous scientific research.

3. Chiropractic Is Dangerous

For years, the medical community has attempted to portray chiropractic as a dangerous therapy, particularly when involving manipulation to the cervical (neck) area of the spine. However, none of these medical opinions are based in scientific fact. In fact, there have been numerous studies which explored the overall risk of spinal manipulation. These studies (which were published in peer refereed scientific index medicus journals) show the rate of an adverse reaction following a chiropractic adjustment to be roughly 1 in 3,000,000. Now for purposes of comparison, you have 100 TIMES greater likelihood of being injured from taking a Motrin™. Chiropractors pay the lowest malpractice premiums of any physician. Why is this? Because according to the insurance industry, chiropractors don't injure or kill people. It literally is the safest form of healthcare known to human kind.

4. Once You Go, You Have To Keep Going Back Forever

You don't have to go back forever. You don't have to do anything. For example, you don't have to eat right and exercise. You don't have to brush & floss your teeth. You don't have to get to bed on time and get a good 8 hours of sleep each night. We do certain things because it makes sense to do them. We see benefits in keeping up with maintaining our health.

While you don't have to go to a chiropractor forever, some people opt to continue on a periodic maintenance basis so they can keep their joints moving well and maintain good posture. It's kind of like going to the dentist for periodic check ups and cleanings. The spine is just like everything else (your teeth, your car, your house, etc..) in that it requires periodic maintenance for optimum function. People go to their primary care doctors indefinitely. Women go to the gynecologist for an examination. These things are done for wellness & prevention measures. The same thing applies to your spine with chiropractic care.

5. Chiropractors Aren't "Real Doctors"

The word "Doctor" is latin for "teacher" or "learned one". It doesn't mean "he who prescribes drugs. There are many different types of doctoral degree programs: D.C., M.D., D.O., O.D., D.V.M., D.M.D., Ph.D., Ed.D, D.P.T., etc. A professional or academic doctorate degree is considered to be the highest degree conferred in any given area of study.

6. I Can Crack My Own Back

While you may be able to "crack" the joints in your back, you are merely doing a non-specific manipulation of your spine. A chiropractor doesn't do that. Chiropractors perform very specific corrections by moving the vertebrae to their "normal" position. This is like if you knock your front end of your car's suspension out of alignment. You go to the auto shop and the mechanic loosens the suspension. Then they put a laser down the long axis of the car and move the camber and tow back and forth until the front end is re-aligned and then re-tighten everything back up. They aren't just wiggling it back and forth carelessly. A chiropractic adjustment works along the same principals. The chiropractor locates the vertebrae that is out of alignment. Then utilizing very specific vectors, he/she gently slips the bone back into place.

7. Neck Adjustments Cause Strokes

Certain people in the medical community (who have a negative bias against chiropractic and seek to sling mud against the profession) are trying to convince the world that chiropractors cause strokes. Again, there is no scientific study which proves this claim. Not one. And yet the medical community continues to frighten the patient population with this myth. It's unscientific and dishonest of them to perpetuate this lie.

8. Chiropractic Is Only Good For Back Pain

While chiropractic has an outstanding track record for helping people get rid of back pain, that is not the only condition that can be treated. Literally any problem that has to do with the nervous system, or the musculoskeletal system can be helped with chiropractic care.

9. Kids Don't Need Chiropractic

Most chronic spinal problems adults have started when they were children. As the twig is bent, so grows the tree. Wouldn't it make sense to nip these problems in the bud before they've had a chance to blossom into a full blown crisis? Wouldn't it make sense for a chiropractor to treat young girls to first start to show signs of scoliosis? Kids have spines too - and they most certainly need chiropractic care.

10. Medical Doctors Hate Chiropractors

The medical community has certainly softened their stance with regard to chiropractic and their treatment toward chiropractors. Unfortunately there are still a couple of old timers who are set in their ways. There is still professional bigotry out there. But for the most part, the younger doctors don't hate chiropractors. They view them as a medical sub-specialty (which is exactly what it is). The continuous expansion of the scientific literature (which proves chiropractic works) has certainly changed attitudes.

11. Chiropractic Is Too Expensive

Chiropractic is not only safer and more effective than drugs & surgery for chronic problems, it is less expensive too! When you consider that spinal surgery costs an average of $50,000.00 - and fails 50% of the time, chiropractic seems like a bargain at 10 times the price. Also, when you take into consideration the amount of damage that drugs cause to your liver and kidneys - and the long-term costs of the damage to those organs, again chiropractic is a better deal.

11.5. I Need Permission From My M.D. Before Seeing A Chiropractor

You don't need permission to go see a chiropractor. In today's day and age, you can go see any health care provider you want. If your medical doctor tells you you can't go, find another doctor you can STILL go. You are the health care consumer. It's your body and your money. You can go to anyone you want.

Acute Vs. Chronic Back Pain (And What To Do About It)

There is a lot of confusion and misinformation surrounding the best way to treat back pain. This health issue is a very common problem affecting an estimated 20 million Americans every year. It's so common in fact that the current scientific literature says more than 80% of us will suffer severe back pain problems at least once during our lives. So what should we do about it when it happens? What's the best course of action?

The first thing we need to discuss is whether the problem is acute or chronic. What do these terms (acute and chronic) mean? Acute means it's a new problem, typically having occurred within the past three weeks. Chronic means it's an old problem, typically going on for more than three weeks. Whether the spinal pain issue is acute or chronic will determine which treatments are appropriate. Believe it or not, the problems are managed very differently.

Before I present the ideal treatments for acute and chronic back pain problems, I want to bring up another variable. That is the issue of intermittent pain. Intermittent means the pain comes and goes. In other words, the person doesn't have pain all the time. Perhaps they feel okay during the morning. But as time goes on during the day their back starts feeling worse and worse. Or perhaps they wake up from their sleep and their back is troubling them with pain and stiffness - but by mid day the problems seem to ease up.

Acute back pain involves back pain that has been occurring for three weeks or less. Common causes of acute back pain include overdoing it with sports, slips and falls, and minor sprain / strain injuries. To treat this problem, many people will take pain medications (such as aspirin, ibuprofen or acetaminophen) ice, compress and rest the affected area. These treatment approaches (medications, ice, compressions and rest) are often appropriate as these types of problems are self-limiting anyway (meaning that they will go away on their own in most cases).

Chronic back pain involves back pain that's been going on for more than three weeks. The causes of chronic back pain may include more severe injuries (such as an automobile injury involving whiplash), degenerative changes (such as arthritis, degenerative or herniated disc), repetitive stress injuries (carpal tunnel syndrome), peripheral nerve problems (sciatica), structural problems (forward head posture, scoliosis, etc.), and strength problems (deconditioning, core weakness & core instability). These problems are not self-limiting (meaning that they will not go away on their own). They also do not respond well to drug therapies (mean over the counter and/or prescription strength pharmaceuticals will not cure the problem). Rather than a palliative (symptom relief only) approach, I believe a corrective approach works best. For these problems - as well as intermittent (comes and goes) back pain, I recommend a physical medicine method.

The best physical medicine approach involves a program of care which serves to restore motion (to the joints and muscles), re-aligns the spine and pelvis and then strengthens and stabilizes all of the supportive structures. This approach is what I refer to as "MAS Correction". MAS is an acronym which stands for Motion-Alignment-Strength. By restoring motion, alignment and strength, you have the best chance of achieving long-lasting relief from even the most stubborn chronic pain syndromes. Restoring motion to the joints as well as re-aligning the spine and pelvis is most effectively accomplished through chiropractic adjustments. Improving muscle function and movement is accomplished through a combination of stretching and manual therapies (such as muscle stripping, cross friction massage and manual compression techniques). Strength & stability enhancements come from exercises which target the specific muscle groups that have limited strength and function. This cannot be accomplished by way of a generalized, one-size-fits all work out. Instead, the individual must undergo specific functional tests to ascertain which muscles are weak. And then specific exercises are prescribed to target weak and dysfunctional regions.

By restoring motion, alignment and strength, the back pain suffer has the best chance of getting out of pain and staying out of pain.

The 5 Common Myths and Misconceptions About Chiropractic

Five Common Misconceptions about Chiropractic Care

Health experts continue to conduct research designed to learn more about chiropractic care and how it works, but many people still do not understand some of the fundamental aspects of this beneficial treatment method. A lack of information is almost guaranteed to cause myths and misconceptions. Below are five common myths about chiropractic care, along with the actual truth behind them.

Myth No. 1: Any Benefits from Chiropractic Are Simply Due to the Placebo Effect

A great deal of research has proven that chiropractic truly is effective, with benefits that are not just the result of the placebo effect. In other words, chiropractic's benefits are "real" and not just psychological or "in people's heads."

It's important for you to understand that chiropractic is a form of therapy focused on the body's musculoskeletal system. It improves bodily functions by correcting issues associated with those particular parts of your body, such as your spine and your neck. The goal of chiropractic treatment is to restore your body's innate, natural ability to heal itself and retain its ability to function normally. Even a quick Google search will turn up scores of case studies that prove the benefits of chiropractic care.

Myth No. 2: Chiropractic Treatments are Risky

This misconception is one of the most widespread. Many people are afraid to seek chiropractic treatment because they believe it can cause injury and potentially lead to more serious problems. Even worse, some still think that chiropractors are not licensed doctors.

First of all, and most importantly, chiropractic is an acknowledged professional healthcare field, and chiropractors are considered to be, and licensed as, medical professionals. Chiropractic is a recognized form of alternative medicine, and a chiropractic degree is awarded only after the individual successfully completes a rigorous educational and training program. Chiropractic uses adjustment procedures on certain areas of the body, including the spine and the neck, to help restore mobility or function. Often, chiropractic treatments are used in conjunction with nutritional plans and relaxation techniques to provide optimal results.

Experts are essentially unanimous in their assessment of the safety of chiropractic care: it is considered to be safer than taking prescription pain medication and the associated side effects and risk of addiction, and it certainly is far less risky than surgery and the attendant risk of surgical complications.

Myth No. 3: Chiropractic Care is Painful

Chiropractic doctors have years of training and clinical experience, so there is no need to worry about feeling any pain during a chiropractic adjustment. Rarely, a patient might experience some minimal discomfort, but it does not rise to the level of pain. Certainly, this discomfort is insignificant compared to the painful recovery so typically associated with surgery. Chiropractic treatments are manually applied, and several factors can potentially change the sensations you feel during your treatment procedures. Simply put, however, chiropractic care is not painful.

Myth No. 4: Too Many Serious Side Effects are Associated with Chiropractic Care

You also don't need to worry about any serious side effects caused by chiropractic adjustments. Some people mistakenly believe they can lead to stroke or even death. Far to the contrary, chiropractic is recognized as one of the safest forms of treatment in the medical field. Its high degree of safety explains why ever-increasing numbers of people are turning to chiropractic care instead of undergoing risky surgeries or treatments with medication.

Myth No. 5: Chiropractic Care is Too Costly

Careful analysis reveals that chiropractic care is actually one of the most affordable treatment options for back pain, especially when compared to the cost of surgery. Somewhere, I read that chiropractic care costs an astonishing 90% less than typical back surgery!

Benefits a Chiropractor Can Provide

Pain is an unneeded diversion that lots of people deal with daily. Many individuals have actually lived with pain for so long that they do not even think of it anymore. This does not need to hold true, there are things you can do to ease the pain you deal with each day. Chiropractic practitioners are a very useful tool in the relief of daily aches and pains. Additionally, they can assist with a lot more serious pain such as back and neck injuries. There are many perks to seeing a chiropractic practitioner, listed here are just a few:.

Chiropractors specialize in treatment of the musculoskeletal system, more specifically, the back, neck, and joints. Chiropractors can help you by making sure that your neck, back, and spine are properly aligned. This will help you relieve pain by taking stress off of your spine and muscles. This relieves tension that can cause you pain and even headaches. By properly aligning your neck, back, and spine, you will ensure that you are not in any unnecessary pain.

Seeing a chiropractor can save you money on medications as well. Chiropractic treatment is often so effective in immediate and long-term pain relief that a good portion of patients will see a sizeable decrease in pharmaceutical spending. Depending on the patient and the amount of pain they've been treating with medication, the savings will outweigh the costs of seeing the chiropractor.

Muscle and joint pain is also one of the most important things that a chiropractor can help you with. A lot of this pain can be relieved with a simple alignment, but often a chiropractor can offer specialized treatment these areas. Chiropractors can assist you with nutritional information and stretches that can assist you with increasing range of motion and relieving stiffness in the muscles and joints.

Chiropractors can help you in other ways as well. Most chiropractors employ a massage therapist. When combined with chiropractic treatments, massage therapy can relieve pain in your muscles and joints. Together these treatments can also help treat muscle spasms and assist with a decrease in the amount of pain in the joint especially for individuals with arthritis.

Many chiropractors can also assist you in living a healthier life in general by offering counseling services. They can help with nutrition in order to help strengthen your muscles and joints and to help you lose weight, which will put less stress on your spine.

Chiropractors are not medical doctors but do have limited medical training and have proven to be a valuable resource in the early diagnosis of diseases and conditions. If your chiropractor notices any conditions, he can refer to you a general practice doctor or specialist for further analysis and treatment.

Going to a chiropractor can be a vital component in your quality of life. Nobody should have to be in pain and chiropractic care can help to relieve pain at the source. Rather than masking the pain with pills and denial, chiropractors can help get your spine, neck, back, joints, and muscles all working together to help you be pain free.
